Medina
Mariners Association
The
Medina Mariners Association is a registered charity with a mission to
protect and preserve the amenities and environment of the Medina Estuary for the
recreational use of the general public and to provide or to facilitate the
provision of facilities for the inhabitants of the Isle of Wight for recreation
and leisure time occupation.
The
Association therefore has a particular interest in serving the interests of the
ordinary family river user and berth holders alike. To help achieve this it
provides an area for storage of dinghies and a scrubbing berth for yachts, and
organises regular dinghy racing and cruising rallies and associated social
activities. It also acts as a pressure group to try and protect the estuary
from over-exploitation for commercial purposes, and to improve facilities for
walkers, cyclists and nature lovers where appropriate.
Further details about the Association can be found on the brief history page, the
facilities page,
and the initiatives
page. The Association also is keen to
welcome new members. Details of topical matters of
interest can be found on the newsletter
pages and the events page. There is also a
members’ section on the web site where recent
Committee minutes and AGM minutes can be viewed.
