Why join MMA?
Medina Mariners Association welcomes new members, and is happy to receive enquiries and applications from anyone who enjoys boating or other water activities, or is just interested in being a member of a charity that seeks to protect and enhance the opportunity for leisure activity in an attractive estuary environment.
The Association offers a number of facilities to members. Set in an attractive waterfront position adjacent to the Folly Inn, these are offered at very competitive rates. In addition, membership fees are very reasonable.
The Association arranges social events and, of course, kayaking, sailing and cruising. On the last Friday of each month, all members are invited to attend an informal social meet-up at The Folly Inn at 6pm. Events are a great way to get to know other members.
One of the traditions of the Association is that members who berth on the river fly their yellow and red MMA burgees at all times, so members can keep an eye on each others’ boats as they pass by. These can be ordered on your application form or by emailing membership@medinamariners.org
The Association actively seeks to monitor planning applications for developments that may be detrimental to leisure activity within the Medina Estuary
Another important role of Medina Mariners Association is representing river users on statutory bodies such as the Isle of Wight Council, Cowes Harbour Commission Users' Group and Newwport Harbour Users' Group, to ensure the best interests of leisure users and cruisers are properly looked after.
The Association has a reciprocal arrangement with Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, East Cowes Sailing Club, Newport Rowing Club and Cowes Sailability Club.
Cruising events, boat jumbles, social and other events are organised under the umbrella name of Medina Combined Clubs. The arrangement also allows our members to use certain facilities of the other clubs.
MMA members receive a discount of 10% on drinks at The Folly Inn (MMA membership card must be shown).
Please note that there may be a waiting list for dinghy and kayak spaces. If you wish to check the current position or require any further information regarding membership, please email membership@medinamariners.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
By joining or renewing your membership, you agree to MMA's terms and conditions for use of all MMA facilities (see below)
